A Legacy Unmatched: Part 3
 
After 40 years as an educator and coach at USC Upstate, Dr. Joe Bowman is retiring from the athletic department. From becoming the first basketball coach in school history to win a conference title to leading both the bowling and golf teams to NLCAA National Championships before turning his attention to volleyball, it would take many months to tell the full story of Bowman's impact on USC Upstate, its athletic department and his many, many students. In a three-part series, Assistant Media Relations Director Joe Guistina will tell the story of "Dr. Joe Bowman: A Legacy Unmatched."

In today's third and final part, UpstateSpartans.com looks back at Bowman's latter career,which includes coaching USC Spartanburg to another volleyball title, a stint at the other Division I college in town and, finally, back to USC Upstate to serve as an assistant to his former protégé.
