Named for one of the University's founders, Dr. G.B. Hodge, the Center was completed in 1973 and underwent renovations in 2000. The bottom floor is home to the Athletics Department, which includes offices for the athletic administration and coaches. The Hodge Center features a main gymnasium, home to the men's and women's basketball teams and the volleyball program, a practice gymnasium and the University weight room, as well as athletic training facilities. The Spartans have experienced a great deal of success on the floor, with the men's basketball team winning an NAIA National Championship in 1982, three NAIA District Six titles and five Peach Belt Conference trophies. Women's basketball took home three straight Peach Belt Conference Championships from 1993-95. Volleyball won three straight NAIA District Six titles from 1987-89, advancing to the national tournament in each of those years, and also took home Peach Belt Conference titles in three straight years from 1993-95. |
