Women's Tennis Completes Play At ITA Southeast Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Junior Anna Novo's (Caracas, Venezuela/El Angel) string of 11 straight singles victories was snapped on Saturday afternoon at the ITA Southeast Regionals, as Duke's third-seeded Ellah Nze took their second-round match in the Open Singles bracket, 6-2, 6-0, at the University of North Carolina's Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Novo, who has posted 45 singles wins in her career, won 10 straight matches to begin the fall after posting a singles win in her final Division II match, at the NCAA Nationals in the spring. She posted singles titles at the USC Upstate Fall Tournament and at the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational at N.C. State.

Novo and the rest of the USC Upstate women's tennis team will close out their fall season at the Southern Intercollegiates hosted by the University of South Carolina starting Friday.
