2008: Earned A-Sun Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors, marking the first time in A-Sun conference history a player has earned both honors in the same season... an NFCA Second Team All-Region selection... also earned first team all-conference and all-freshman honors from the A-Sun... named the Female Freshman Student-Athlete of the Year at Upstate... led the A-Sun with 27 wins, a 1.37 ERA and a .171 opponent's batting average... credited for the win in 27 of Upstate 34 victories... earned the victory in 12 of Upstate's 16 wins in the A-Sun... ranked fourth in the A-Sun with an Upstate single-season school record 258 strikeouts... ranked second in the conference with 8.44 strikeouts per seven innings... ranked nationally in four statistical categories... ranked in a tie for seventh with an .844 winning percentage... tied for 23rd with 4.15 hits allowed per seven innings... ranked in a tie for 24th with 27 wins... tied for 33rd with a 1.37 ERA... was 4-1 with 38 strikeouts and a 1.82 ERA against teams who advanced to the NCAA Tournament... broke the single-season school record for appearances with 39 and innings pitched with 214... tied the single-season record with 10 shutouts... finished the season with a 27-5 record... started 27 games... turned in 25 complete games... also tallied two saves, both in conference play... was 12-2 in A-Sun play... struck out 112 batters in conference games... struck out 10 or more batters 11 times... started her career by breaking the school's single-game strikeouts record that had stood for 16 years... struck out 18 Pioneers in the 3-0 win in game one of the sweep (Feb. 13)... picked up the win in relief of the second game... went the distance in the eight-inning, 4-3, win over Winthrop, a team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament (Feb. 20)... had six strikeouts and allowed two hits in the 8-2 win over Stony Brook, a team that went on to play in the NCAA Tournament (Feb. 23)... pitched all 11 innings with seven strikeouts while allowing one earned run in the 5-4 win at Charlotte (Feb. 24)... struck out 12 and allowed just two hits in the complete-game win against Lafayette (Mar. 8)... struck out nine and went the distance in eight innings for the 6-2 win over Princeton (Mar. 9), another team which advanced to the NCAA Tournament... struck out 13 and went the distance in 10 innings for the 1-0 win at Coastal Carolina (Mar. 12)... allowed just two hits against the Chanticleers... had 11 strikeouts and allowed just two hits in the 6-0 shutout of Belmont to open A-Sun play (Mar. 16)... turned in a dominating performance with 15 strikeouts in the complete-game, 2-1, win over Kennesaw State (Mar. 21)... allowed four hits and struck out eight in the 6-0 shutout of ETSU (Mar. 24)... struck out 13 and narrowly missed a no-hitter in allowing one hit in the 3-1 win at Campbell (Mar. 30)... did not allow an earned run in the game... scattered four hits and struck out eight in the 4-0 win at Jacksonville (Apr. 4)... was simply outstanding in the sweep at North Florida (Apr. 5)... tossed a complete game with 11 strikeouts in the 4-0 shutout of the Ospreys in the first game... struck out four and did not allow a hit in 2 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the save in the 6-2 win in game two... posted 14 strikeouts and scattered three hits in the 2-0 shutout of Furman (Apr. 8)... picked up the win in the nightcap versus the Paladins, tossing three innings of scoreless relief in the 7-6 win... struck out 10 and allowed just five hits and two runs in the 6-2 win over Stetson (Apr. 11)... led Upstate to a sweep of Florida Gulf Coast by tossing a complete-game win in the 6-4 victory of game one... shut the door with a scoreless inning of work in the seventh in the 7-3 victory in game two... had 11 strikeouts and scattered two hits in the 7-0 win at Presbyterian (Apr. 24)... picked up a pair of wins at Mercer to close out the season (Apr. 27)... went the distance in the nine-inning, 4-3, win over the Bears... came back to pitch 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the 10-4 victory in the second game... also pitched for the Virginia Legends U23 team that won the ASA National Championship in the summer... pitched in six of the nine games played in the national tournament... a member of the A-Sun All-Academic team. High School: An accomplished pitcher from Kings Mountain High School under Head Coach Suzanne Grayson... named the Western North Carolina 3A Pitcher of the Year as a senior... led Kings Mountain to a second-place finish in the 3A state tournament... was an All-State, All-District and All-Conference honoree in 2007... posted a 0.16 ERA with 387 strikeouts in 172.2 innings pitched... posted a 25-4 record... a four-time recipient of the Southwest Foothills Conference Player of the Year award... named the Gaston Gazette area Player of the Year for the third time... earned Piedmont Player of the Year honors from the Charlotte Observer for the second straight season... a three-time First Team All-Charlotte Observer selection and was named the paper's Female Athlete of the Year for Kings Mountain in 2006... led Kings Mountain to back-to-back 3A state and regional championships as a sophomore and junior... had 1,284 career strikeouts with a 0.38 ERA in 628 innings pitched... walked just 65 batters in four seasons... walked just 17 her junior and senior years combined... tallied a career record of 92-8... recorded a 0.04 earned run average as a junior.... played summer ball for the Cabarrus County Challengers under Head Coach Dennis Cook and the Lady Blues under Head Coach Adrian Ochoa... also a standout in the classroom, was a four-time member of the Honor Roll.
