Ashleigh Beck is in her first year assisting the softball program after spending the last four seasons playing first base for the Spartans.

Beck played in 214 games in her career at Upstate, starting 189 times at first base. She was a part-time starter as a freshman, then held the starting spot the last three seasons. She had a breakout year as a sophomore, finishing the season with a .295 batting average as a starter in 60 of the 61 games played by Upstate. She helped lead the Spartans to the championship game of the NCAA Southeast Regional at Kennesaw State and finished the tournament as the second-leading hitter in the regional.

Beck ranks second all-time with 1,266 putouts and third all-time with a .990 fielding percentage, having committed just 13 errors in 1,320 chances. She also finished her career with 147 hits including 27 doubles and nine home runs. She collected 94 RBIs and 89 runs in her four years and stole 32 bases in 35 attempts.

A native of Spring City, Pa., was a four-year letterwinner in softball at St. Pius High School and also lettered in basketball and soccer. She hit .341 as a se¬nior and earned honorable mention All-Area honors. She hit .411 with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage as a junior, earning second team All-Area honors and was an honorable mention All-Area selection in softball and basketball as a sophomore.

Beck is currently finishing the requirements for her nursing degree and will graduate in May.
