SPARTANBURG, S.C. - USC Upstate women's soccer signee Caitlin Beale was recently named to the 2007 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-South Region Scholar team.

Beale, a native of Fayetteville, Georgia, led the Whitewater High School girls' soccer team to the Georgia 4A State Championship in 2007. Whitewater is currently ranked #4 in the Georgia 4A girls' soccer rankings this season and #12 in the Georgia All Classification rankings.

A National Honor Society member and a State of Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, Beale signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's soccer at USC Upstate in February. USC Upstate women's soccer will open up the 2008 season in late August.
