SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head women's soccer coach Renee Lopez has announced that Gabrielle Fennell has enrolled in classes this spring at USC Upstate. Fennell comes to Upstate after spending last fall as a member of the Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team. Fennell was a four-year letter winner in soccer at Wren High School in Easley, S.C. She ranked in the top-20 in the state of South Carolina in several categories in two different seasons. She was named the team's offensive MVP and was also named to the conference all-tournament team. In four years at Wren H.S., Fennell scored 81 points as she scored 32 goals and tallied seven assists. She also played club soccer and was a member of the national honor society, beta club, and principal's list. "Gabrielle comes to our program with good D-I experience with the time she spent at Gardner-Webb," said head coach Renee Lopez. "She is a committed individual who will go the extra mile both on the field and in the classroom. Most importantly, she has a competitive drive on the field to push herself. We are excited to have her join our program as we begin the rebuilding process." |
