USC Upstate women's soccer head coach Kendall Reyes announces the signing of seven players to National Letters of Intent to play for the Spartans. Signing to play for Upstate are Caitlin Beale, Jaclyn Bishop, Jordan Brown, Tiffany Frank, Caitlin Robinson, Alexandra Schalk and Erin Vavro, all of which will enter school as freshmen in the fall of 2008.

Upstate To Celebrate National Girls & Women In Sports Day on Feb. 2

USC Upstate will host its first National Girls & Women in Sports Day celebration on Feb. 2, as part of the women's basketball team's Atlantic Sun Conference game with Mercer at the Hodge Center. The event, which is also an NCAA Pack the House event, will feature a poster contest and a free all-sports clinic, with the day's events kicking off at 11:30 a.m. Admission to all participants in the celebration (children under the age of 14) is free and family members will be admitted for $1.

Upstate Hosts Coastal Carolina in Home Finale Wednesday

USC Upstate (3-13-0) closes out its regular season home schedule this Wednesday, Oct. 31 when it takes on Coastal Carolina (11-5-1) at 7 p.m. at County University Soccer Stadium. This will be the third meeting between the Spartans and the Chanticleers. The series is currently tied 1-1. Coastal won the first meeting, 1-0, at Spartanburg on Sept. 27, 2000, but Upstate took the last meeting, 3-1, at Conway on Oct. 28, 2001. That game was the second in as many days for the then-USC Spartanburg team, which won at Francis Marion, 2-0, the day before.

Upstate Travels to Sunshine State This Weekend

USC Upstate (3-11-0, 1-7-0) takes to the road this weekend to face two Atlantic Sun Conference foes from the state of Florida. Upstate will first make its way to DeLand, Fla. to take on Stetson (6-8-1, 4-4-0) on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Stetson Soccer Complex for a 7 p.m. game. On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Spartans will be in Fort Myers, Fla. to square off against Florida Gulf Coast (10-5-0, 6-2-0) at 1 p.m. It will be the first time that Upstate has played both Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.
