Nov. 6, 2007 DeLAND, Fla. - The USC Upstate women's golf team shot a solid 318 in the final round of the 54-hole Hatter Fall Classic played at the 6,007-yard, par-72 Victoria Hills Country Club Tuesday afternoon to finish seventh out of nine teams. Upstate 318 was the second lowest round for the team in the three-round tournament. Upstate opened the tournament with a 326 and followed it with a school record-tying 307 in the second round Monday. The Spartans finished with a 951 total, seven strokes back of sixth place. Stetson, the host of the tournament, won the event with a 902 total and was followed by Florida Southern (908), Florida Gulf Coast (931), Bethune-Cookman (933), Florida Atlantic (933), Jacksonville (944), USC Upstate (951), Daytona Beach CC (959) and Stetson "B" (992). Richia Wedzik turned in a solid tournament to lead Upstate. She shot a 75 for the lowest individual score of the day for the Spartans, finishing 11th with a 231 total. Sister Richelle Wedzik finished with a 76 Tuesday and a 237 total to finish in a tie for 22nd. Julie Miller finished the tournament in 29th place with a 241 total, while Audrey Church finished 39th with a 247 effort. Johanna Ebenhag was 42nd with a 256 total. Florida Atlantic's P. Phol-uayporn entered the final round with the individual lead and shot a 75 to capture the individual title with a 217 total, three strokes ahead of Stetson's Lauren Daniell. Upstate closed out its fall season at the Hatter Fall Classic. Upstate claimed three Top 5 team finishes in five tournaments, collecting Top 10 finishes in all five events.
