Sedona, Ariz. - The USC Upstate women's golf team turned in a 331 Sunday to finish with a 661 total, finishing in a tie for 10th at the Red Rocks Invitational played at the Oak Creek Country Club.

Upstate finished in a tie for 10th with Portland State, which matched Upstate's 330 Saturday and the 331 Sunday on the 6,116 yard, par 72 course. Eastern Michigan rallied from second place entering the tournament to claim the team title with a 626 total. Western Michigan was second with a 628 total and was followed by Northern Arizona (632), Oral Roberts (633), UC Riverside (640), Wyoming (643), Northern Colorado (656), Montana (657), Upstate (661), Portland State (661), Montana State (675), Utah Valley (682), Southern Utah (686) and Idaho State (723) in the 15-team field.

"I think the whole team was disappointed that we couldn't score better both days," saod Upstate head coach Todd Lawton. "Overall we hit the ball well, we just needed to putt better and take advantage of the opportunities we had. It was the first time we played at this elevation, dealing with the wind and how the ball carried. It was a good tournament to get experience."

Eastern Michigan's Catherine Fortin turned in a 77 Sunday and held off Northern Arizona's Sophia Choi by a stroke to win the individual title. Fortin finished with a 150 total, while Choi came in at 151.

Twin sisters Richia and Richelle Wedzik finished in a tie for 21st as the low Spartans in the tournament. Both golfers finished with 162 totals to finish 12 strokes back of the tournament champion. Julie Miller was the third lowest Spartan, finishing in a tie for 34th with a 165 total. Jessica Wofford improved her score by three strokes Sunday and finished tied for 65th with a 173 total, while Audrey Church finished tied for 69th with a 175 total.
