Spartans Wrap Up Second Year In DI On Roll
 
The numbers speak for themselves. From 5-24 in 2007-08 to 13-16 in 2008-09, an eight-win improvement. The 20th best in all of Division I. A final RPI of 321st of 338 teams in 2007-08 to a final RPI of 242nd in 2008-09. The 79-team jump was the 32nd best improvement in Division I, a leap that helped them finish among the top 10 percent of all DI schools. From a 1-15 A-Sun record to an 8-12 record, a leap of seven wins and five spots up the conference ladder from last to seventh. It was the fifth-most dramatic turnaround in A-Sun history. + MORE

Spartan Women's Basketball Signs Three More For 2009-10 Season
 
With only three post players returning for the USC Upstate women's basketball team, head coach Tammy George addressed the need in the frontcourt during the late signing period by signing two 6-1 post players while also addressing another need by adding a second true point guard to Upstate's five-player class. She announced on Monday that point guard Tee'ara Copney (Asheville, N.C./Roberson) and forwards Lauren McRoberts (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and Christine Nyobe (Charlottesville, Va./The Miller School) have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Upstate in the fall. + MORE

Upstate's PinkZone Raises More Than $1,000 In Fight Against Breast Cancer
 
For the second straight year, the USC Upstate women's basketball team hosted a PinkZone event in support of the fight against breast cancer, holding it on Monday, Feb. 23 against ETSU at 7 p.m., and the event raised $1,233 for the Upstate chapter of the American Cancer Society. + MORE
