By DAN ARMONAITIS While traditionally solid programs such as men's soccer have struggled, the Spartans have had plenty of top-notch individual performances in their inaugural Division I campaign that have helped put USC Upstate on the map. "I think (the individual success) is really good for the university," men's tennis player Sandy Franz said. "With the transition from (Division II) to (Division I), nobody knows USC Upstate. But, of course, with success, your name starts getting out there and people start recognizing you."
