One of only 13 federally-designated Millenium Legacy Trails, the Palmetto Trail is an ongoing project in South Carolina to connect the mountains in the Upstate with the sea through a single hiking trail. When completed, the trail will run more than 425 miles and include a 12-mile corridor through Spartanburg called the Hub City Connector. USC Upstate runners will benefit by the portion of the trail that begins right on campus, with six miles of trails in a wooded forest on the banks of Lawson's Fork Creek. The trail is used on light workout days by the Spartans. |
