A 2004 All-American in the hammer throw at Auburn University, Spartanburg native Colton Hodge is in his first year as a volunteer assistant with the USC Upstate track and field program.

Hodge spent three seasons at Auburn before graduating in 2005, earning All-Southeastern Conference honors in the hammer throw in 2004 en route to earning All-American honors with a career-best throw of 64.64 meters, helping him finish seventh at the National Championships. He also scored in both the hammer throw at the SEC Championships three times in his career.

Hodge also spent a year at Clemson University, where he finished sixth in the discus throw at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. He was a high school All-American at Spartanburg High in the weight throw.

The proprietor of Colton Hodge Properties, L.L.C., Hodge resides in Spartanburg.
