Sandy Franz Men's Tennis

Men's tennis player Sandy Franz has been named the SunCom Wireless Spartan of the Week after winning the USC Fall Invitational last weekend in Columbia.

Franz, a junior from Duesseldorf, Germany, stretched his fall record to 11-1 with an impressive run to the A-1 singles flight championship at the USC Fall Invitational. Franz, a 6-6 right-hander, used a powerful ground game and his large presence at the net to defeat both the No. 5 and No. 1 (62nd-ranked Roy Sichel of Charlotte) seeds at the event en route to the finals, where he downed S.C. State's Ivan Milijovecic, 6-1, 6-2.
