Courtney Hawkins Women's Basketball

Women's basketball player Courtney Hawkins has been named the SunCom Wireless Spartan of the Week.

Hawkins earned the award after a tremendous performance against Campbell on Saturday, Upstate's first-ever home Atlantic Sun Conference game. She finished the game with 30 points, five rebounds and three steals to keep the Spartans in the game. She was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line.

For the week, she averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in two games. She had five points, three rebounds and three steals in the non-conference game at UNC Asheville earlier in the week.

Hawkins currently leads the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg and pulls down 4.6 rebounds per outing. She also tops the team with 32 steals on the year.
