Barbara White Position: Athletics Office Manager Years at Upstate: 5th Year

Barbara White is in her sixth year as the administrative assistant and office manager in the athletic department. She is in her 10th year overall at USC Upstate.

White previously served as an administrative specialist in the advancement office at USC Upstate.

White, a native of Texas, began her professional career in 1984, working as a secretary at St. John's Episcopal Church in Florence, SC. She served in that position for four years before accepting a similar position at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Columbia, S.C., in 1988.

After eight years at the Main Street United Methodist Church, White became an administrative assistant at Wachovia Bank in Columbia in 1996. After two years of working at Wachovia, she accepted the position in the USC Upstate advancement office in 1998.

White earned a Business/Secretarial certificate from Draughn Business College in Dallas, Tex., then attended North Texas State for two years.
