Jerry Waters came to USCS in 1980, and over the next 17 years built the Rifles men's basketball team into a regional power. Waters compiled an overall record of 364-133 (.732). His teams captured three NAIA District Six Championships (80-81, 81-82, 89-90), two Peach Belt Athletic Conference Championships (90-91, 91-92), and one NAIA National Championship (1982). He led the Rifles to three NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional Tournaments (1991, 1992, 1996). His teams were a phenomenal 193-30 at the G.B. Hodge Center, including a 50-game winning streak from February 1989 to February 1993. In his 17 years at USCS, Waters also served as athletic director and instructor in the school of education. He is currently an educator in Georgia. |
