Deanna Lewis is in her second year as an assistant athletic trainer at USC Upstate. She works with both the Upstate women's soccer and softball programs primarily. Lewis came to Upstate after completing the requirements for a Master's degree in Applied Exercise Physiology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While at the school she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working with the football and softball programs. Prior to her stint at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, she served as a student athletic trainer at Oregon State while pursuing her undergraduate degree in athletic training. She was a student under the leadership of Michael "Sandy" Sandago, Upstate's current Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, during her first three years of college prior to Sandago accepting the position at Upstate. Lewis worked closely with the Beavers softball and men's basketball programs and graduated in 2007. Lewis is ATC certified and a member of the NATA and SCATA organizations. She is originally from Lafayette, La., but moved to Katy, Texas, while in high school and graduated from Cinco Rach HS. She has a brother in the Navy and another brother and sister. Lewis, formerly Deanna Rosato, resides in Boiling Springs, S.C., with her husband, Clay. |
