Can you give the official reason why Upstate will never have a football team? -- Sherrie, Spartanburg
Chancellor Stockwell: There is no "official" reason and no one should say "never" to any proposition such as this. USC Upstate has made a determination that, for reasons of cost and other priorities, football is not in the foreseeable future.
