SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate Athletic Department announces the launch of two new initiatives with the announced launch date of the new athletics website, www.upstatespartans.com, and the release of the ASun.TV video streaming schedule.

The new upstatespartans.com website will launch Thursday, Sept. 27 and will have added features that the current website currently does not offer. Developed in conjunction with CSTV, the nation's leader in collegiate web solutions, the new website will provide Spartan fans and visitors to the site the best coverage of Upstate Athletics. Live statistical updates through the Gametracker system, an online store, special features section, photo galleries and a weekly athletics newsletter are just a few of the new features offered on the website.

"Moving our website to CSTV will allow us to provide the avid Spartan fan as much information on our teams and the department as possible," said Bill English, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. "We already offer a pretty strong website and this new partnership with CSTV will allow us to build upon a solid foundation and improve on what we are already able to provide. Things like Gametracker and the online store are features that will only enhance the experience for our fans."

In addition to the new website, Upstate Athletics announces its live video streaming schedule for the 2007-08 sports season. ASun.TV is a partnership between PlayOn! Sports, an arm of Turner Sports under the Turner Broadcasting umbrella, and the Atlantic Sun Conference which will allow fans of A-Sun sports to follow their favorite teams throughout the season. Member institutions will broadcast every home men's and women's basketball game as well as select other sporting events. At Upstate, all home men's and women's basketball games, conference and non-conference, will be video streamed live over the internet at ASun.TV. Select men's and women's soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball games will also be broadcast.

Upstate will broadcast 65 dates and 79 games in 2007-08. In addition, many of Upstate's road contests at A-Sun conference member institutions will be broadcast on ASun.TV. Upstate begins its broadcast schedule this Friday when the Spartan women's soccer team opens A-Sun competition against Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. at County University Soccer Stadium.

ASun.TV is a subscription service. Fans wishing to follow all of Upstate's athletic events, home or away, can purchase a season pass for $69.99, giving the purchaser the ability to watch all 79 home contests and whatever road games are broadcast by league opponents. Fans can also buy a per-month package for $9.99. For more information in ASun.TV and a full list of the Upstate home video streaming schedule, log on to the new athletics website, www.upstatespartans.com, starting Thursday.

"ASun.TV is an exciting new venture for Upstate Athletics," said English. "Video streaming has become the norm in sports and being able to offer over 65 dates and 79 home games is phenomenal. Families and friends are always clamoring for more information on our student-athletes and this is just another vehicle to provide them, and all of our fans, with a television-like quality of our athletic contests. It's exciting and we are looking forward to putting on a good show when we broadcast these events."
