Frequently Asked Questions

Air-Conditioned Dorms
The Palmetto and Magnolia House are air conditioned dorms (no need to bring a fan) that are convenient to all playing sites.  They are staffed and secured 24 hours a day.  More information and pictures of the dorms are available at USC's Housing Page.

Dining Hall
Our Dining Facility is located in the Campus Life Center.  Our campers are provided with lunch and dinner on the first day of camp and breakfast and lunch on the second day of camp.

Transportation/Airport Shuttle
The Greenville/Spartanburg Airport (GSP) is located 30 minutes from USC Upstate.  For an additional fee of $35, safe transportation services can be provided by the Renee Lopez Academy of Athletic Excellence, LLC.  Please contact Camp staff prior to registering and booking flights. We can not guarantee transportation unless it is set-up with the Camp staff prior to booking flights.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
If a player is unable to attend camp, the player will be charged a $75 service fee which is nonrefundable. We can only provide a refund of the remaining amount if we receive written (or email) documentation 72 hours prior to the beginning of camp. After that time no refunds can be given as we still have to pay staff, housing, and meals.

Key Deposit
A key deposit of $25 will be collected at check-in. You may bring a check or cash for us to hold. Please make out a check to Renee Lopez Academy of Athletic Excellence, LLC and it will be returned to you at check-out when you return the key.

Roommate Assignment
We can assign roommates, but only if all roommates request each other. The campers will be staying in Suite Style rooms (4 to a suite which share their own bathroom).  Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed if made less than 14 days before camp.

Campers will be required to bring their own balls. Please inflate your ball before coming to camp. Every camper must have shin guards worn at every field session.

Complimentary T-Shirt
Each player will receive a camp t-shirt.

Family and Friends
We welcome families and friends to attend training sessions and games but for the safety of our campers, we ask that parents not plan on being inside the dorms except during check-in and check-out. We especially encourage parents to attend the recruiting seminar and campus tour if interested on the 2nd day of camp.

Teams are encouraged to train together.  Please refer to the tuition information on the application for a breakdown of discounts including sibling discounts, early registration, and groups of 4 registering together. There is also a discount for those who are commuting and not staying overnight in the dorms.

Activities both on and off the field are supervised by staff members for their entire stay in camp.  For the safety of our campers, no one is allowed to leave campus or leave their group during camp (unless prior arrangements have been made with the Camp Director).

 Medical Attention

A Certified Athletic Trainer will be on site at every session to attend to anyone needing medical attention.

No one can promise you a scholarship, but here's how we can help.  Prospective student-athletes will have the opportunity to attend seminars conducted by college coaches.  Topics will include what coaches look for in a player, how the college recruiting process works, NCAA regulations and how players may better present themselves as a college prospect for recruitment.

Each residential camper receives an honest written evaluation from her staff coach indicating strengths and weaknesses in her game.  We believe straight-forward, honest feedback is necessary.
